READ IN FRENCH B1

FRENCH LITERATURE FOR INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

WHAT IS A READ IN FRENCH COURSE? – It is a friendly conversation course where you develop your skills in French by reading a book and discussing it with a group. Each week you read a number of chapters or pages at home and then we meet to talk about them together. Our teachers guide you in your reading, provide additional information and organise the debates.

LITERATURE FOR INTERMEDIATE LEVEL - For these groups we select books between 200 and 350 pages and use novels that have a clear plot and a language that is suitable for B1 level. We focus on the story and understanding of the main characters, their motivation, and their role in the plot. Each week we propose simple tasks related to what you have read (answering questions, researching, ). Those are also used as a starting point for discussions. Knowledge about French litterature is not required.

READ IN FRENCH B2

French literature for upper intermediate level

WHAT IS A READ IN FRENCH COURSE? – It is a friendly conversation course where you develop your skills in French by reading a book and discussing it with a group. Each week you read a number of chapters or pages at home and then we meet to talk about them together. Our teachers guide you in your reading, provide additional information and organise the debates.

UPPER INTERMEDIATE – At this level, we use more complex books, sentences can be long and the vocabulary rich. We practice understanding the nuances and we begin to take an interest in the style of the writer. We discuss the themes more thoroughly, the way the author approaches them through the composition of the work, character psychology and images.

Thank you for your enthousiasm and your comitment. With your questions you made us think about so many different aspects of the novel. The Roots of Heaven is such a complex text I'm thankful that you introduced us to this universe.

Chemins noirs

Sylvain Tesson.
